The Karnataka government opted for direct bank transfers (DBT) to assist BPL families within the state. Rather than providing 5 kg of rice, each family member will receive Rs 170 to fulfill their daily necessities. A study revealed that around 1.28 crore forged ration cards were identified under the Antyodaya Scheme. Both the Chief Minister, Siddaramaiah, and Deputy Chief Minister, DK Shiv Kumar, have initiated the process of transferring funds to the bank accounts of BPL households.

Benefits

Eligibiity

  • The eligibility criterion necessitates that the individual applying must be a domicile of Karnataka.
  • Must hold a Ration Card

Households meeting the following criteria are Not Eligible

  • All households paying Income Tax/Service Tax/VAT/Profession Tax, including permanent employees and institutions receiving government grants or from government-sponsored institutions, state-owned boards, corporations, autonomous institutions, etc.
  • Households owning at least 3 hectares of dryland or equivalent irrigated land in rural regions, or owning a concrete house exceeding 1000 square feet in urban areas, excluding rural zones.
  • All households possessing four-wheelers, with an exception for households owning one commercial vehicle used for livelihood, such as tractors, maxicabs, taxis, etc.
  • Families with an annual income exceeding Rs. 1.20 lakhs.

  • Proof of Residence
  • Phone Number

Citizens Who are eligible can apply for BPL Ration Card or Anna Antyodaya Card . There is no need to Apply separetely for the scheme. Citizens and Eligible members will get the benefits of the scheme f there has Ration Card.
